These days I'm reading Rumi's poems time to time. There is this emphasis of love noticed immediately.
I noticed when you emphasize a concept to that extent, it's possible to replace it easily with another. It's possible to replace Rumi's love with truth for example, the truth behind everything that scientists are looking for, or Tao as Lao Tzu would tell or God as any believer would understand.
The difference between a meaningful and meaningless life is this base: Call it love, truth, God, Tao or whatever, that is probably ineffable in all aspects anyway, but if your being is tied to this root of all being, you can navigate in the world. Otherwise you're lost: Love is compass, God is root.
